Bryan Jones - Managing Director
Since joining a Manchester QS practice in 1988, Bryan has gained significant experience in the industry. Working on both Commercial and Retail projects, in the role of Project Manager, Employers’ Agent and/or Quantity Surveyor for a number of clients from single projects, to framework agreements with extensive roll out programmes. Bryan has been working with JD Sports Fashion since 1996 - it is this continuity of trust that has provided the backbone for the development of Smart Jones. Bryan has completed a number of flagship schemes across Europe and is involved with JD and Adidas in respect of furniture procurement from the Far East & Europe. Whilst being the MD for SmartJones, Bryan continues to maintain a hands-on approach
with all clients and is actively involved in on-site schemes.
James Roberts - Director
James has been working in the construction industry since 2000. His initial experience involved the Project Management of Asbestos removals for a number of Bank clients. He also acted as Contract Administrator on 7 sites at the Commonwealth Games 2002 in Manchester. Further to this he worked with Tesco Stores on 3 “Store-on-stilts”, at an average cost per store of £16m. James has been heavily involved with a number of Developers shells including a £19m mall scheme at Byron Place, Seaham where he acted as Employers Agent and Tenant Fit Out Coordinator. James has extensive experience in the retail fit out sector as both Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor and utilising various procurement routes, working since 2005 for JD Sports Fashion plc on schemes ranging from £100,000 to £3m. James has worked across Europe but more recently has worked more in the UK and Ireland as a conscientious effort to maximise office time as a benefit to the company. James is also a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has acted as Supervisor and Counsellor for successful APC candidates over the last few years.
